Gum Disease and Stomach Cancer


Gum disease and stomach cancer- according to latest research from New York University published in the journal of periodontology, bacteria which cause gum disease could contribute to the development of cancerous stomach lesions . These bacteria have the ability to start chronic inflammatory processes which may contribute to development of stomach cancer. Gum disease can be added to the list of potential risk factors associated with stomach cancer including, cigarette smoking high salt diets and preserved/ cured foods and H.Pylori (a bacteria associated with stomach ulcers).
